Technical Readout: 3145 Lyran Commonwealth introduces the wave of new battle armor, vehicle, ‘Mech, and aerospace units appearing across the Inner Sphere in the Dark Age era. Technology, once stagnated by trade restrictions and peace treaties, now surges forward again, testing these new machines in the fierce crucible of war. As war once more rages across the Inner Sphere, new equipment strides across ancient battlefields. Without its influence, old hatreds have risen anew. Withdrawn behind the Fortress walls, the once-great power has become a silent, opaque remnant of its former glory. The great experiment that was the Republic of the Sphere has failed. Units listed with two asterisks "**" are units which were included in the Technical Readout: 3150. Units listed with an asterisk "*" are units which were included in the printed volume of Technical Readout: 3145. The publication was written as an intelligence report on the common designs of Combat Vehicles, battle armor, 'Mechs, and aerospace craft. TRO:3145LC focuses on common units used by the Lyran Commonwealth and Clan Wolf-in-Exile in 3145. Technical Readout: 3145 Lyran Commonwealth (abbreviated TRO:3145LC) is the sixth in a series of faction-specific mini-TROs detailing combat units in use at the time of the Dark Age era.

I'm posting everything here, but you can also find it in a much nicer format at Blender is scary, but I hope this guide will be a good introduction for people who have never used it before. We're going to do all of this using Blender, a very powerful free tool for 3D modeling. getting the scaling right, adding some detail, and then cutting everything up into pieces small enough for printing. I'm going to cover cleaning up the models, giving them thickness. I didn't find any really thorough guides already, so I collected all the information on the problems I've run into and the techniques I learned to solve them, and put them in this tutorial. It turns out that 3D printing pep files is a lot harder than just converting them to STL and hitting print. I've been working on 3D printing a Mark III Iron Man suit based on DancinFool's Pepakura files. |
